We Love to Read!

We have been busy reading lots of books. After we finish reading a book, if it is a book that we like and think others should read, we complete a book recommendation. Each week the Star Student gets to share their recommendations with the class. This week we have four students who want to share their most liked books. Lucie thinks everyone should read Nate the Great and the Lost List because, "It is a great book. If you like mysteries, you will love this book." Ned loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid. "The second book is my favorite. This book is really funny." Ian loves to tell jokes. His book, What do You Hear When Cows Sing is a book full of jokes. Marlena couldn't pick just one book to recommend. Instead, she wants to recommend all of the Pets to the Rescue books. "They are all so good that I can't pick just one."

The BIG Orange Splot

This week during reading, Ms. Walker read The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Manus Pinkwater. This book is about Mr. Plumbeam who has a big orange splot on his house. Mr. Plumbeam likes the change. Soon, all his neighbors begin to change their houses. After the book we got to talk with our neighbors about our dream house. Then, we each got to make a home that shows who we are. Although each house was different, they all fit together to make the perfect community--just like us!
